This book outlines the way that Thomas Jefferson and other Founding Fathers were taught. It calls for a return to the classics, along with using a mentor approach to teaching. The ideas in this book can be followed by adults as well as youth. It definitely inspired me to return to the classics and learn more. 

If you are looking for a new (old) approach to learning and education this book will give you a lot of food for thought.
